Name: Lindi MacWilliam on Feb 22, 2010Comments: I feel it is very important to allow these Palestinian farmers to attend the Fairtrade fortnight. Life is difficult enough for farmers in Palestine and this visit would have represented a chance for them to meet other Fair trade producers and learn how valued the Zaytoun olive oil is. We talk about problems being solved by talking rather than by fighting and I feel our government should be doing all it can to encourage these kind of visits with people from Palestine.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Feb 22, 2010Comments: Here is an opportunity to support dignified, positive and important work by Palestinians and international support. However it is extremely disappointing to hear of the barriers put in place to stop genuine initiatives. I hope that this petition goes some way in alleviating such draconian measures.Flag

Name: Alexandra Lort Phillips on Feb 22, 2010Comments: how can the fco state it is 'committed to a viable Palestinian State', has a 'focus on those things that matter most to British people' and work to 'promote and develop human rights' while refusing Palestinian farmers participation in this fortnight's activities? Out of date, out of touch and ineffective is how they appear, in complete contrast to their stated aimsFlag
