Fifteen other school systems recently have realized their non-standard grading policy was not fair to their students. It is time for FCPS to recognize this problem and make a change for the benefit of all our students. |

| 10 | Donald Weyback | There is no question that the current grading system puts our students at a disadvantage relative to other students. Jack Dale and the School Board need to make this a priority and move on it this spring, and not go down the "5 year study" path. |
| 11 | Jim Gallagher | It is time to put our students on a level grading field with students from other school systems and to encourage, and reward, our students for taking advanced classes. |

| 15 | Annette Ahlers | My son, a freshman at McLean HS is already worrying that he will not get into a good college because many of his grades are in the 92 or 93 percent range, and as a result, a B in Fairfax County's eyes. This is shameful and unfair to our kids and the parents who pay premium tax dollars to pay for these schools. The School Board should report to the parents, not the other way around. |

| 28 | Beth Methfessel | The high level of competition for state colleges and universities by Fairfax County students gives these admission boards the ammunition to "penalize" our students by unfairly comparing their grade point averages with schools that grade the way Fairfax County did 20 years ago.... |

| 34 | Aileen Anderson | Having recently moved to the FCPS area from out of state I can personally confirm that the FCPS grading policy is unfair. Changing grades from a previous school district to fit the FCPS policies, as well as having current and future grades fall as compared to past grades, is demeaning and unfair to transfer students. How is a transfer supposed to evaluate themselves when the grading policies are so different? |

I know that colleges do "react" to students being from Fairfax County and area aware of the grading difference, however when colleges in VA get 20,000 applications and they have 3,000 spots, our children are up against more and more competition. If thye do the work and work hard, they should have the same grading scale as everyone else, including full credit for honors. My son had a 3.8 and still didnt get into two of his choices. |

| 44 | Beth Thurston | We live in Fairfax County because it's known for it's exceptional education. It's going to be all for naught when it comes time for my children to apply for college and many other benefits children in many other school systems enjoy. How is that beneficial to our kids? |
