    I support Fair Fares because: This is important. Graduate students tend to have more financial commitments than ever before, often at a point in life of extended compromise to full employment, and often supporting children or family into the bargain. Melbourne hosts so many educational institutions and competes at the forefront in quality with all other national tertiary providers, and it is high time that Fair Fares is brought in line with the rest of the States and Territories. Environmentally, morally, ethically and in terms of equity across the states this has got to change!

    I support Fair Fares because: I am a postgraduate student and I deserve it just like any other student. I am already paying higher fees than undergraduates and the government should give concessions to post grads as well to reduce some of the money related stress.

    I support Fair Fares because: It is ridiculous that international students, subject to full fees, should be ineligable for basic transport concessions whilst supporting themselves in a foreign country. Likewise, it is nonsensical to assume that graduate students (more generally) will be sufficiently well-paid to warrant the incursion of full fare costs when in reality, their financial situation is unlikely to have changed since being an undergraduate --- study is still their full time occupation.

With Student VISA limitations of required full time study and minimal income allowed and without living stipend, I am positioned in a very low income bracket and depend on public transportation.
