We the citizens of the United States of America hereby declare that if we cannot rely upon the Democratic Party to ensure that our Presidential nominee is chosen through a fair and democratic process, the Democratic Party cannot rely upon our participation in the 2008 General Election. We stand united in our objection to the DNC or any government agency retroactively reinstating the delegates that were stripped this year from Michigan and Florida in the Democratic Presidential Primary Election. It would be unfair to reinstate these delegates to a meaningful status not only to lesser known candidates who were deprived from campaigning in these states due to their adherence to the rules designated by the DNC that prohibited such campaigning, but it would be unfair to the citizens of Michigan and Florida who were deprived of the ability to make an informed decision in casting their vote for a lesser known candidate. Furthermore the citizens in these states were lead to believe that their votes wouldn\'t count. How many citizens might have voted if they knew their votes would count Additionally, in Michigan only one of the two remaining candidates was even on the ballot! To retroactively reinstate the delegates that came out of these nullified elections would unfairly give favorable bias to the candidate who garnered the most delegates. Furthermore, any manipulation of the DNC rules after they have been instated would compromise the very integrity of our democratic process. We are asking that the rules that stripped away the delegates in these offending states be upheld. However, if the case of voter disenfranchisement (of those Florida and Michigan voters who voted) gives due cause to changing the rules after the fact, then we request that the rules be changed so that those who were not given the opportunity to become familiar with lesser known candidates through the course of their campaigns, who failed to vote due to the belief that their vote would not count, and those who were also deprived of having the candidate of their choice listed on the Michigan ballot are not disenfranchised as well. Sincerely, We the Undersigned
