The History of Ireland, or the Island of Ireland has long been interpreted as the struggle of the 'Irish' to throw off the yoke of oppression of the 'English Crown' The World is now a very different place than one hundred years ago, when the last Royal visit to the 'Island of Ireland' took place. The following source is acknowledged, from: http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/exhibition/dublin/main.html "In July King George V spent six days in Dublin on a royal visit to the city. The King and the royal party, led by the 8th Royal Hussars on horseback, travelled from the harbour in Kingstown (now Dún Laoghaire) to Dublin Castle, as thousands lined the streets to view his procession." - End of quote. The world is a very different place today. Let all the people who share this Island ( a phrase used by John Hume) now welcome Queen Elizabeth the Second, as the Head of State of our nearest and friendly neighbour, England, Britian, or the UK.
