  • FAFSA's new updated forms for the 2024-2025 school year have brought a multitude of issues to light. Their new form is now blocking families with mixed-status citizenship from filing for financial aid. College is very expensive and many undocumented families fall under low-income status in the U.S. and the FAFSA form was the only way to secure aid money for higher education. Signing this petition will help create a notice of this glitch to those on the Education Board who handle FAFSA. Bringing attention to these technical issues mixed-status families are facing is important to uphold FAFSA's credibility and the need for diversity in spaces of higher education. The Department of Education is now creating an alternative for those with mixed status families instead of fixing the problem all together. Everyone deserves to have access to education and start new generational traditions for a better life.I call upon the U.S. Education Board to further address these issues on the new 2024-2025 FAFSA form and new forms to come
