In addition to the like feature many facebook users would like to see a dislike button added. Rumours suggest this was considered by facebook before but rejected for fear of bullies disliking everything their victims put. With the privacy settings we have on facebook I think it's safe to say that the only people we have on our facebook are people that we like and therefore there is no real concern over bullying. Many people on facebook like to get into forms of banter with their friends and with the addition of a dislike button this would be made easy. For example: Fans of a particular sports team may put up a status bragging about their teams win at the weekend, one of their friends may support the team that lost and could express their frustration by hitting the dislike button and engaging in a friendly form of banter. The option above is just one of many options where a Dislike button would and could be put to good use so for this reason I think facebook should listen to the people that make facebook possible and install this feature now. Surely this feature could come with an option to turn it on or off as well so if anyone did feel that they were being victimised via the dislike button they could simply disable it. Come on Facebook, give us what we want...... after all, without us there wouldn't be a facebook.
