The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and several other government agencies is forcing U.S. companies to be accredited by a single entity in order to be accepted for a government contract. The entity is a Wisconsin-based organization known as the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB). This is a perfect example of government cronyism at work, and it must be stopped. Why is the US government engaged in anti-competitive practices that is forcing government contractors to be accredited by a single organization? This stifles and suppresses competition and is badly hurting small businesses, minority businesses, Veteran owned businesses and all other contractors that have chosen another organization for their accreditation needs.

* Many government contractors posted at https://www.fbo.gov indicate the following: "A contractor must be accredited by ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (or equivalent)." What they mean by "equivalent" is the IAF, which is a signatory of ANAB. Yes, IAF is the accreditation body of ANAB operated by the same individual. * The IAF is incorporated in Delaware with headquarters in Canada and overseas. Why is the U.S. government demanding US contractors be accredited by a foreign based organization?
