Name: Viv Pegram on Mar 6, 2013Comments: Burgess Park has just been regenerated and is surrounded by bus routes which create greater pollution than tubes (the kids' play area is right by the road). It would be good to have a tube station at the entrance to Burgess Park at the end of Walworth Road so that it serves both shoppers and park users, thus alleviating some of the pollution from roads. There is already a tunnel from Elephant & C, which I believe goes this far.Flag

Name: Max Fawcett on Mar 6, 2013Comments: I support the principle of extending the Bakerloo Line from Elephant and Castle - however - I qualify my support by urging Southwark Council to please consider in parallel the merits of the alternative alignment via Bricklayers Arms and the Old Kent Road towards Leiwsham, which would have the following advantages over heading South to Camberwell. 1. Camberwell already has a rail line from Elephant & Castle and Thameslink is being upgraded - all that it required is the re-opening of stations at Camberwell and Walworth. 2. Peckham already has bemefited from the extended Overground. 3. The Bricklayers Arms - Old Kent Road (OKR) corridor has no rail service and is entirely dependent upon buses. 4. An extension along the OKR corridor would be able to surface earlier than a Camb-Peck tunnel as there are extensive railway lands in the New Den area on the approaches to Lewisham - this would save on tunnelling and therefore be significantly cheaper and quicker to deliver. 4. The OKR corridor would allow interchange with surface rail at Lewisham and DLR - it would also allow adoption of the Hayes Branch by the Bakerloo. 5. Adoption of the Hayes branch (which sits entirely within thenGLA boundary) is a key objective for TfL in terms of expansion of the Overground franchise. 6. The OKR corridor is under-developed due to its poor transport connections but contains large areas of derelict land.Flag

Name: Kathy West on Mar 9, 2013Comments: Although the completion of the London Overground line is very helpful, we really cannot compete with people North of the Thames or those on the Northern Line in the S/W. Among other things, this affects our access to health services and other locations urgent for our well-being. The population is growing rapidly and already available transport is insufficient. Please help improve this.Flag

Comments: The council needsto do more than start another petition. It should fund a proper study as Greenwich did for the DLR extension to Woolwich Arsenal - that one cost £50,000 and resulted in a £1/4bn extension.Flag -
