Name: Anonymous on Jan 27, 2013Comments: This transport service is desperately needed in this area. We are heavily-reliant on buses to get into central London and it takes a frustratingly long time (1 hour) to get from our area in zone 2 to get into zone 1 central london by bus. Sometimes two or three full buses pass before we can embark. Our journey times are too long considering that we live in zone 2 London. It easily take 1 hour to get from dulwich library to Vauxhall ( 5 miles) by bus. Even if the journey is combined with a train ride, the journey can take the same time because the buses and trains are infrequent and there is little coordination between the two resulting in long waits. The trains from east dulwich are infrequent and very busy. The length of time to get to Victoria has now been increased as a result of the new London overground. Having a tube at Camberwell and peckham would greatly improve the lives for commuters in this area who need to get into London for work. It would also relieve the road congestion particularly at camberwell green/camberwell new road (up to Victoria) and walworth road (towards elephant & castle). Camberwell green is a real bottle neck for buses. It is currently quicker to get into London by public transport from areas of zone 3 than it is from our area. Please strongly consider this proposal. With many thanks. From a desperately frustrated resident (who loves living in east dulwich).Flag

This would bring the entire city closer together in one effective stroke.Flag

Comments: Having the tube in Camberwell and Peckham would mean that South London is percieved as as important as North London by the GLA which would be nice. It would also be great for other reasons - ease of getting to and from home for example..Flag -
