We, the undersigned friends of Greenwich's dogs and dog owners, petition the Town of Greenwich, Department of Parks and Recreation, to extend dog season, currently running from December 1st through March 31st, by adding the last two weeks of November and the first two weeks of April. While we see the virtue of excluding dogs when the beach is crowded, the beach is under-utilized during this period and dog owners would be able to enjoy the beach with their dogs during better weather. The current season limits dog owners to the very worst weather and leaves the beach deserted during the end of November and the beginning of April.

im still waiting to hear back from the parks department but i have been emailing them every few days because they need to face the fact that these extra weeks make total sense. honestly the weather lately just shows how ridiculous it is that we cant take the dogs out there right now.

we are almost at 100 signatures and i really want to hit that mark before i send this over to the department. if you could get just one dog owner friend to sign it today we should be able to get there no problem.

After having such a cold winter it would be great to get some more time on the beach with our dog. As th season stands now we only are able to bring our dog to Tods during the worst weather!!

I agree Let the dogs have some good weaher fun too. Instead of freezing cold temperatures, which deter both owners and pets from even using this beautiful resource

This would be a great gift to all dogs in town, and reflect well as another great thing about Greenwich. Currently there are not a lot of options that offer the atmosphere of Todd's Point for dogs and the enjoyment of dog owners at the same time. The other official dog park in Greenwich is a disgrace.

I'm not a dog owner but I love seeing them at the beach in the off season. There's no reason why the extra weeks shouldn't be added. Hopefully owners are responsible and clean up after them though! Good luck!

AND!! don't forget Thanksgiving weekend... So many families are home and together and radio ally take walks around Todd's that weekend - it's so sad to leave a member of the family home!!! So glad people are doing this

The months of November and April would give dog owners six months, half the year, to enjoy the beach with their best friends. It would be a good policy, and fair to all.
