The SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) has long "allowed" non-European persona but they have for the large part, seems to be very anti-European and seems to want to hid the fact that you can portray a non-European persona.  One example of this on the SCA.org site it still says: "The SCA is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe."  Right there on the first page, its one of the first things you see.  A new comer to the SCA would see this and come to believe that European is the ONLY choice available to them and may not even continue to explore the SCA because of it.

I would like to petition the SCA to expand its ideals and embrace non-European cultures in a positive light.  First by removing or editing the above phrase to show that you can be something other than European.
