Although extreme barking may also be a sign of solitude or separation anxiety, it does not warrant "surgical debarking". My neighbor ,who is at home all the time, fights and shouts often from her backyard and no one is even suggesting a "surgical devoicing" procedure for her, so why can some one dare to suggest it to be done to our best friends, dogs. If some of us are so freaked by barking, we should contemplate better insulating our houses and windows to achieve it. "Surgical Debarking" should be banned, it also should be branded as animal cruelty!
