Excellent schools for Crocker Kids
We, a committed group of households within the Crocker Highlands school district, feel that the augmented Crocker school boundary benefits our children and our school through adding additional economic and racial diversity which appropriately reflects the city where we call home. Unfortunately Crocker is reaching capacity. There are several factors that have contributed: getting selected 2 years in a row as the best public school in Oakland, the recession, the baby boom, and the expanded school boundary. While only 6 incoming families represent the new Crocker school district we welcome them with open arms. Oakland has terrific schools and terrible schools. We would request that if Crocker is unable to accommodate all incoming Crocker students they can make assurances that they will get routed to another equally excellent public school. Thank you for supporting the Crocker neighborhood.
