This petitions objective is to officially abolish the word "theory" from evolution and recognize it as a "fact." Too many people (scientists, teachers, media personalities, parents etc...) do not believe in evolution and say it is just a "theory." It is ignorant - a crime against science and evidence - to call something factual a theory and vice-versa. We do not say the gravity theory, the DNA theory, the cancer theory, or the holocaust theory (sadly some do...cough cough Ahmadinejad). Other subjects that are beliefs and not facts don't get the label of theory. Take God for instance. Perhaps we should start saying "the theory of God" and "the God theory." The difference between facts and beliefs is substantial. Whoever coined the term "evolution theory" probably lived in the times of Darwin and didn't know as much as we know today. More than a century later we can now assert through science, research, and technology that evolution is a fact. This petition would also affect the education system by teaching evolution in all science classes where it is not taught. It must also be "properly" taught, not subjectively by an evolutionary denier or a creationist. Textbooks should be re-written so the word "theory" is not mentioned when discussing evolution.
