Name: Carol Campbell on Apr 25, 2009Comments: I have been in the education field for 40 years and this policy saddens me greatly. Last year I visited schools in Taiwan where the opposite of these policies are in effect. In less than a generation, we will be so far behind that it will impossible for Ontario to catch up. Taiwan has no natural resources and must rely on its people.Flag

Name: Veronique Hibbard on Apr 25, 2009Comments: Having a son-in-law who is a science teacher and whose profession is his hobby, I feel very strongly about the issue at hand. From his comments I know firsthand the frustration our teachers experience on a daily basis. No wonder the universities complain about the low standard of many of their new students resulting in a high drop-out rate. I hope this petition will be a success and an important first step to change the situation so that our young people can get the tools they need to succeed in life - VeroniqueFlag

Name: Anonymous on Apr 25, 2009Comments: I concur. The education system is a vehicle to educate students to fit in society and prepare them for higher education--university, which under the present system will create problems to the student based on two different evaluation systems. University for many, especially in the first year , is diferent to say the least, but a different evaluation system, -- a ticket for possible failure. What effect then will this system have on a now young adult.Flag
