The International Quidditch Association has reviewed our concerns and officially committed to the structural changes we requested. This outcome demonstrates the value of clear communication between regional leadership and global governing bodies. We will remain observant as they implement these new processes to ensure our community continues to flourish.

********************************************

Quidditch Europe has seen impressive growth since its inception. As a part of the International Quidditch Association, we are honoured to use rules that apply globally to a sport so unique and important to all European players. That being said, we, here, representatives of Quidditch Europe, feel isolated and ignored by the IQA. Below, we list issues and suggestions that have arisen amongst discussions between team leaders and nation heads.

We firmly believe that these three issues at hand are the greatest problems that afflict us having a proper relation with the IQA:

Representation – Communication – Expansion

And so it begins. As a Canadian Quidditch player, I hope to see more countries calling out the IQA on their lack of "international-ness"

The IQA feels too disconnected from Europe despite being called the INTERNATIONAL Quidditch Association. From what I've heard, European players don't get enough influence in decision making and that must change.

It's about time that we start getting some more consideration in the world of quidditch and, as a volunteer of the IQA since months before actually playing quidditch the first time, I feel like this doesn't happen as much as it should even on part of the association whose primary goal to represent quidditch *internationally*. I think most of us do like the IQA, we only wish it would pay some more attention to us, so we feel like we actually belong to it and more people are willing to make it grow even further :)

I'd like to add that it would be cool to have a European on the rules committee (if there isn't already), some big changes are happening (new pitch, off-pitch seeking discussions etc.) and I think decisions should include non-US Quidditchers too. E.g. Most people I have spoken to in the UK are in favour off-pitch seeking.

I'm sure the IQA does a stellar job within the US, but frankly they have been nothing short of abysmal outside of it. The lack even of media footage is particularly shocking, as it's not even as if that is something which would require very much effort, and ignoring people's submissions is just arrogant and unpleasant.

Yes! Even just as a simple player in a member team (i.e. without captaincy or any other kind of organisational role, on even a team level, let alone a national or regional level), I can feel this severe lack of representation and communication. I feel that USA needs to be more considerate. This isn't like the other sports they invented - baseball, basketball and the thing they call football - where basically the whole rest of the world is pretty happy just to let them play it on their own: this is a sport that the world wants to join in.

Can't call it a "World Cup" if you don't have teams from all over the world there!!!!
