Ana Hamilton | Excellent initiative! I fully support a referendum on the Constitution.
Anonymous | This labour government has given up all responsibility for keeping our independence, with no attempt to retain our sovereignty or respect our history.
Michael Murphy |
Brian Boggis |
Daniel Moylan | We must have a referendum, as promised by Tony Blair.
Brian Taylor | I just want what I was promised----a vote!
Allan Glass | I want to live in England not Germany. I think this New Labour Government after Brown stole our pensions now want to make Westminsrter a PARISH COUNCIL but with lees powers but MORE PAY.
N Anderson | Kick europe into touch worst days work Ted Heath ever did
G Beardwell |
Alexis McEvoy | Not only is it time for a referendum on the Constitution but it is time to ask the peole if they want to leave the Europpean Union altogether.
Sally Roberts | It is a disgrace if the British People are not given a chance to have their say on something which so deeply affects the future of their Country! We demand a referendum now.
Justine Boultwood | The British people have the right to their say. By voting labour back in to power, this did not give them carte blanche to decide on Europe. The British people deserve to be heard and deserve a referendum. We still, last time I looked, live in a democratic country. Let us stay that way.

chris hoskins | I am totally opposed to any further control of this country by the EU
Robert Stanton | The Parliament has stood for the British people for 1000 years. You cannot change that without the will of the people, and ensure they understand the issues.
| 18 | Roger J Arthur | In the 1960's many voted to remain in, what we were encouraged to believe, was a Common Market. Since then, the EU has sought and continues to seek, to take over powers traditionally vested in our national parliament. It does that without demcratic consent and that process must be stopped.
The US Constitution includes the words "governments are instituted among men, deriving their powers from the consent of the governed", which is surely a human right in any democracy. That should be a basic premise of any EU treaty.
Perhaps it is time to give notice to those denying us a Referendum on the EU Treaty, that another petition will follow if the current petition fails, and that will be for withdrawal from the EU. For that petition, I propose the following question "if the British people are denied a referendum on the EU treaty, before the Treaty is put into effect, then would you vote for withdrawal from the EU?". |

John G. Stewart | Stop this lunacy now
Colin Daukes | Failure to grant a referendum is, in my view, nothing less than treason, for which I understand the death penalty still applies (if we can find even one judge with the single ounce of moral courage needed to give effect to it). Watch it, Gordon!
Alvin Finch |
| 23 | Sue Doughty | I have read it and I don't want this for my country, Britain, or for home continent.
Give us a chance to say so and they can get on with forging a different future. |
Ken Teal |
John Kerr | The British people deserve a say on such a major issue that will affect us for all our future!
Peter Martin |
Anonymous | There must be a referendum.
M R POTTER | We are owed the opportunity of a referendum
Sarah Whitaker |
Rock Feilding-Mellen |
Michael Keenan | I fully support the demand for a referendum, and have no doubt that if one does take place the 'constitution' will be rejected
Stephen Forrest |
mark hook | Let the people decide on the fate of our country. Gordon Brown was not mandated to make this decision. He was part of Blairs Government who promised the people a referendum. If he was a man of integrity he would hold a referendum and uphold the decision made by the people. Little wonder people reject politics and politicians if they continue to remain two faced - or is that what Brown wants?
