The petition

The proposed European Constitution has been described as as the largest single change to Britain's system of Government since the Magna Carta.

At 63,000 words, the Constitution will mean that the British Government will surrender scores of vetos, from the future of the welfare state to transportation policy.

Gordon Brown must grant the British people the referendum they deserve - and demand.
