Campaign to Draft Errol Louis to Replace Larry King

45 Signatures Goal: 100

OPEN LETTER TO CNN'S PRESIDENT, JON KLEIN June 30, 2010 Jonathan Klein President, CNN US 1 Time Warner Center New York, NY 10019 Dear Mr. Klein, For decades, CNN has been an international leader in political, business and financial news, however, the recent direction of your programming is alarming and has undoubtedly lead to the incredible slump in ratings. If you are going to reposition the network to be at the forefront, once again, of news, views and opinions affecting the millions of people who rely on your network for information, you must keep pace with the direction of the country and demonstrate an understanding of who your audience is. CNN’s all-white and, save one, all-male prime-time news anchors and program hosts are so out of touch with today’s world and are a disservice to your audience. We have made history in this country and across the world in politics, technology and entertainment…yet today’s network and cable news programming look the same as it did in the 1950s. We, the undersigned, firmly believe that CNN has an opportunity to make a huge mark in the news and entertainment industry, reach a dynamic population and completely rebound in the ratings when you select an on-air talent to fill the 9:00pm programming slot when the venerable Larry King retires. We believe Errol Louis is the right person for the job! An educator, a journalist and community organizer with degrees from Harvard, Yale and Brooklyn Law School, Mr. Louis is a Renaissance man. We have watched him over the years – he is head and shoulders above any other contributor on your network. He’s always insightful, shows a command of every topic and brings warmth and a genuineness that is refreshing…whether its politics or current trends that are being discussed. In short, we care about the future of your network. We hope you will put in the same amount of care regarding the message CNN is sending viewers every night, and consider Errol Louis as your next prime-time network host. Sincerely,
