We the undersigned Alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff of Bowie University, and interested voters of Prince Georges County and surrounding counties, petition the president, Dr. Mickey L. Burnim of Bowie State University to hold all future graduations on the campus of Bowie State University effective immediately. In case of emergency, graduation will be held at a neutral site.
It is very insulting to move from a historical Black institution to a traditional white institution for graduation. We are proud of our Historical black institution and want our students to graduate from the school where they matriculated.
