Comments: I have 5 horses on 10 acres in south west union county. An estimate of $ spent on horses would be equivilant to my annual income.

Comments: I have two horses and keep them with three other horses owned by close friends on 50 acres in Union County. I spend at least $1500 a year just on feed/hay/wormers/supplements. I spend about $1500 on farrier needs also. I spend at approximately $500 in vet bills. I spend around $1500 for showing (including gas, trailer expenses, entry fees, tack, etc.). I spend $4800 a year on boarding my horses in Union County. There are a ton of people I know who travel a hour or more to shows. If there were local events more people would be involved and could easily trailer to a closer location for shows. People also like to show with others who they are familiar with rather than strangers. A lot more people would show more b/c of the convienence of a closer arena. There is a bunch of horse people in Union County and in surrounding counties that would be involved. Plus, the more people involved the more the word gets out and other people will become interested in the horse community.

Comments: I am in all favor of a Union Cty. facility. I have lived in other states where such areas are available and one here would be advantages. I own one horse and board for about $3,600. spend about $60 on worming, $600 on supplements per year. I used to show, but I would be very interested in observing others. I am currently a fox hunt rider and our MHI group would love to use such a facility for a hunter trial. Thank you for asking.

Comments: With Union County being such an agricultural area with equine interests & livestock, I feel that it is necessary that the county have its own ag. facility. It would be important to many of the local farm owners. Furthermore, it would assist in increasing the Union County economy.

Comments: Currently have no horses, but would like to have. An equine facility would be a great addition to our county. I would attend events as a spectator until I get another horse.

Comments: I am a zookeeper and have always loved all animals. Having events in the county where horses are so prevalent in the lives of Union County Citizens would help the economy of the county and would help an ever increasing population that dwells in urban sprawl housing developments to get in touch with a county that has and always should have a connection to agriculture that has always made this area prosperous and beautiful. From my perspective, anything that can get and increasingly technolocially minded population back in touch with something wild and natural is a good thing.

Comments: I don't have any horses or cattle, however, my children are interested in riding lessons and I think it would be great to have this type of facility in Union County.
