Name: Garth Joe on Sep 24, 2003State:Country: CAComments: I totaly object to the system we have in power at this date for equal rights for both parents. It is so one sided and has been tearing away at my family from the day my ex spouse took it to court. I love my two children more than life itself but the court oredered injuntion that was made is tearing away our strong bond. I wanted very badly not to go to the courts as it would only make our childrens lives a money thing and it did. I pleaded with my ex to keep it out of the courts and lets do everything we could to make our childrens lives happy but as in every other case i have heard of ....she turned it into a money making oppertunity for herself. You polititions have got to understand these days woman are getting pregnant for financial purposes. i can see under extreme cases giving her whole custody rights and having a amount of money givin to her for the children but make it a last resort. My children keep saying constantly they want to live with me but mommy wont let us. She cant now...she went out and bought a brand new suv. she is using my mep as an income and my children and i are paying for it. Most of us guys arent dead beats and we love our children...its inside of us to protect them and bring them up properly but how can we do that if the law instantly makes the mother custody in charge. the fathers need to be there for the children and help them grow also. i have a four year old and a six year old and they live eight hours drive away....it hurts me so much when they cry their eyes out because they dont want to leave. it tears my heart out and i have no choice to send them back to their mother. she goes home and constantly has babysitters watching them....something i would never do. it is my job to watch over them and keep them safe. These old laws must be changed no only for the men but also for the children. i dont want my child to grow up feeling as though i have abandonded him because i am a full days drive away and cant take time from work. I want him to be by my side when he needs me and have his mother close by he needs her. the way things are now is she has this unwritten control over them and i am justa long lost visitor. please make these laws more equipted to give the children their father and the mother.Flag

We as parents need to take back controll from all these people and let US make the decisionsFlag

Name: Tracy Simms on Apr 13, 2005State: KYCountry: USComments: I agree!!! My husband pays support, but, because of the mother and her immaturity, we hardly ever get to see the child..she has harassed us to no end, in every way possible, and the legal system will NOT help us...we pay support only for her to blow it...I know that is not so in ALL cases, but in ours it is..the child walks around looking like an orphan, while she wears new clothes and goes out all the time...And the system does not care if a man has a home or a car or even if he has food to eat..as long as SHE gets the "child" support...which is supposed to be for the CHILD....I think it is unfair that a non-custodial parent can't ever get ahead, because every time he makes five cents more an hour, he has to hand it over to the other parent...My husband can't even have access to his son's medical records without the other parent's permission...because we found some lies and things and found that the child was not given his immunizations, so she had the judge order that he can no longer have access...basically, my husband is a check every month, that is it..hardly ever gets to see the child, is treated horribly by her, and by the system also...I think they should make an equal parenting bill..where they calculate what it may cost to raise the child each month, then split that cost between the two parents..that is how it should be..the non-custodial parent has to live too...I have an ex, and we have a daughter together...I do NOT make him pay support, but instead, we share the responsibility..when she needs something, if I cannot get it at the time, then he gets it...I think that is fair..we are 50/50 responsible...While my husband pays support and his ex gets food stamps and gets daycare paid for and medical cards and rent paid, etc etc..and everything...I mean..what is SHE providing for the child It is just not fair...She pays nothing for the child..in some cases, I know, the cusotdial does do more..but in our case..she pays nothing for the kid..she lives off of us and the state..and it bugs me! The system is horrible!Flag

I found the state removing my children and placing my youngest with My ex- who abused and neglected her and abondanded. they then shut down the divorce coustdy battle and calimed they were acting in the "child's best intrest". THis after four seperate lawsuits over the children were on the books.Flag
