Name: Maria Bianchi on Jan 15, 2010Comments: This man should go to jail. The idea that he be allowed remain a State Senator is both ridiculous and disgustingly. Admittedly, this summer has taught New Yorkers not to expect great things from our State Senators, but the fact that Sen. Monserrate needs to resign or be removed from office immediately should be within even their limited grasp.Flag

Name: Dorothea Cappadona on Jan 15, 2010Comments: This man, Monserrat, who uses physical violence to enforce his demands, is not the kind of role model we need or want in our government. He belongs with the dictators of Iran or Iraq. Get him out of NY's legislature!Flag

Name: Corey Jackson on Jan 16, 2010Comments: What message does it send when a person gets time in jail for harming animals but a man who is caught on tape after slashing his girl friend in the face with glass is not convicted. This is shameful but we should make sure he is not a representative in NY.Flag

Name: Arielle Bernstein on Feb 8, 2010Comments: Senator Monserate is violent and unapologetic for his actions. He is an inappropriate representative for government and for us as community to remain inactive and not provide any meaningful censure such as expulsion from the Senate will only perpetuate the collusive behavior that so often allows abusive individuals to continue their violence.Flag

Name: Christine Delany on Feb 9, 2010Comments: It is reprehensible for you, our elected Senate representatives, to turn a blind eye to San. Monserrate's conviction of domestic violence. The message you send to HALF of your constituency (women) is that it's alright for women to be abused, as long as the abuser has power or it's politically expedient for you to ignore. As a woman, I will not ignore it. After the debacle the NYS Senate pulled over the summer, you need to step up to the plate and do the right thing, regardless of your political ambitions. Do your jobs and represent half your constituency. If not, don't expect to get elected again.Flag
