Whereas:
1. All Peel Elementary Teachers should be entitled to equal benefits; and
2. The current practice of forcing some teachers to waive their benefits is unfair; and
3. The Peel Elementary Teachers' Local is out of step with other teacher groups (e.g., Peel Secondary, Halton Elementary, Toronto Elementary) which allow two spouses similarly employed to coordinate benefits within their plans;
We, the undersigned members of the Peel Elementary Teachers’ Local (PETL), urge the PETL Executive to adopt a policy to allow coordination of benefits for two spouses, each working as a Peel elementary teacher, within our Group Benefits Plan. |
