Some women in Bangladesh are trapped in abusive marriages
due to the unequal laws on marriage, separation and divorce. Or they end up in
extreme poverty as they have nowhere to go and no means of looking after
themselves. We are currently doing a great deal of work with the aims of
reforming personal laws, review and reform family court proceedings and
strengthen social assistance programs. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
With this we hope to spread enough awareness on this subject
and help these women be equal citizens.
