According to the Equal Pay Act of 1963, "men and women in the same work place be given equal pay for equal work" (whitehouse.gov). However, women only make 79 cents to the males dollar. Some may argue a 21 cent difference isn't a big issue to be tackling, but if you do the math, this means a full time worker will get paid 22% less than a male. Everyday, women will not be paid for an hour and forty minutes worth of work. In a year, it means women will not be paid for 57 days of work (The Huffington Post). Its time to stand up for the rights of women, and pledge for workplace equality.
