When decisions are made to move into a property, whether it be a lease or a purchase, the EPC rating is often at the lower end of the list of influencing factors informing a decision. To encourage consumers to consider the EPC as a key factor in finding their ideal property, this information must be displayed far more clearly. By signing this petition you are lobbying for legislation to be brought in requiring that all adverts containing specific details about a property also contain the EPC rating on the advert. So as an example; this would require all estate / letting agents window displays to declare each individual buildings energy performance rating. The aim of the petition is to influence consumers towards buying or renting more energy efficient properties. A change in consumer demand would result in an increase in the performance of the existing UK building stock. This is our end goal.
