Name: Diane Edwards on Oct 18, 2007Comments: While I may not necessarily agree that all entertainment movies be dropped, I definately want to be notified each time one is shown and sign a parent permission ship that it is okay that my child watch that film, even if it is rated "G." I find that the school is showing "PG" rated movies without my permission. Last time I heard, "PG" stood for PARENTAL guidance suggested. I am the parent. Let me guide as I see fit according to my standards and beliefs, not the teacher's.Flag

Name: Brooke on Oct 18, 2007Comments: Bill I totally agree with you. This is just plain crazy! I have never known a school to show a video that is not apporpriate for children. What kids watch at school, i'm sure is alot better than what some kids are watching at home. I would be very embarrassed if I was the parent that started all of this commotion. I think if you have such a problem with it and no trust within your teacher, than maybe you should just home school your children. To let standard practices apply. Schools have been doing this for years.Flag

Name: Ann on Oct 19, 2007Comments: Brooke I do know of several situations where a movie I have deemed inappropriate for my children was shown without my permission. I know that movies are shown too often. Maybe there are other issues that are more important to you. Please let me know, so I can happily support your petition to get change for your worth while causes. Maybe all of us working together can help get this school district headed in a better direction.Flag

Name: Brooke on Oct 19, 2007Comments: I am just wondering what are some of the movies that your children watched that were not appropriate I know that my child has only watched one entertainment movie this year, and was only around 30 minutes long. If you take $1700.00 divided by the 4000 students willard has, that only comes up to $.43 per student or less. You have to keep in mind that this includes after school and summer school programs. The money that is spent, it is not only for entertainment but also for educational videos. Educational videos are a good learning tool for children, they get bored just doing everything out of a book.Flag
