Never-the-less, I believe the sideline should have three sections. For Current UCLA Students, for the UCLA B-Ball Band and a section set aside for former UCLA B-Ball Players and UCLA B-Ball Recruits.Flag

Name: Brad DeJean on Apr 27, 2011Graduating Year.: 1993Comments: UCLA Athletics are a major part of the undergraduate experience. The students also play a vital role in the success of our basketball team. They belong on the sidelines, where they can have the most impact on the game and the fullest enjoyment of the games. That the Athletic Department would move them to the baseline and sell it as better for the students is troubling, to say the least.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Apr 27, 2011Graduating Year.: 2003Comments: Students deserve sideline seats, not to be clustered behind a basket. They are the life of the campus, and we need to convey this energy in a highly visible medium - ON CAMERA and ON THE SIDELINES. Pauley needs to be the ultimate home court, and without a larger and more visible student section, it will never be more than a hollow, empty shell.Flag

Name: Bruce Jones Jr. on Apr 27, 2011Graduating Year.: 2013Comments: It is only fair to us students for to participate in the same Den tradition as the alums before us. We are already missing out on our home court for what is, most likely, going to be the most talented team since the Kevin Love and Russel Westbrook donned the Blue and Gold. Don't make us miss out on the experience that other basketball powerhouse student sections partake in regularly. Let us have the sideline opposite of the television cameras and behind one backboard. It's the right thing to do.Flag

Let current and future students have the same kind of amazing experiences and memories we had as students. Students bring energy and a stronger home court advantage to Pauley that the long standing season ticket holders have failed to bring to Pauley game after game.Flag

His biggest complaint is the lack of school spirit on campus and if the students are relegated to crap seats, spirit will only decline further. Don't do this to future alumni - students today will be the donors of tomorrow.Flag

Name: Steven Kontz on Apr 27, 2011Graduating Year.: 2010Comments: UCLA is a large school. At times too large. It is intimidating coming in as a freshman, coming from a 1,000 person high school to a 40,000 person city. It's big, and can seem impersonal, especially in classes and when dealing with the administration. The first time I felt like more than just a number to UCLA, was when they let me come in and sit in the best seat in the house, for the hottest ticket in town. I love UCLA, and bleed Blue and Gold, in no small part because of the seats I had for the basketball season. I worked for the Athletic Department my final two years as an undergrad. I have donated to the UCLA Fund. I plan to continue to donate, but will direct those donations only to the department I graduated from until the students are returned to the sideline.Flag

I respectfully request that careful consideration be given to this matter.Flag
