Name: Eric Fukushima on Apr 27, 2011Graduating Year.:Comments: I have been a lifetime fan of UCLA athletics and in particular the UCLA men's basketball program. I feel that removing the student seating from sideline section of the new Pauley Pavilion will be a detriment to the basketball program and a negative impact for the UCLA student experience. Give those sideline seats back to the students.Flag

Name: Kevin Nishida on Apr 27, 2011Graduating Year.: 2013Comments: The original plan and design for the seating of Pauley was perfect. You want the students to sit on the sidelines next to the court because it creates a better college atmosphere during the games. I guarantee you will get less attendance if the seating remains as it is now.Flag

Name: Tien Nguyen on Apr 27, 2011Graduating Year.: 1997Comments: Athletics at UCLA are at a low point and recruiting is essential. Please encourage an atmosphere that students actually care about UCLA athletics. I see a huge decline over the last 20 years since I have been involved with UCLA and I am a few seasons in abandoning my season tickets due to my disappointment with the administration. Administrators...do something about it!!!Flag

Name: David Elliott on Apr 27, 2011Graduating Year.: 1969Comments: The Campaign of Champions pamphlet indicated that students would be given priority -- that is, seated in an "L" configuration along the side of the court and behind the basket. To change that and leave court-side seats exclusively to season ticket holders, who often do not show up for games, could prove embarrassing for UCLA.Flag

Name: Bryan Caforio on Apr 27, 2011Graduating Year.: 2005Comments: Having students sit by the sidelines is an absolute necessity. A great Pauley atmosphere intimidates the opposing team, pumps up the Bruins to play better, and creates a better all around game atmosphere for alumni and student fans, both in the arena and watching on television. Please do the right thing and restore the students to the sideline.Flag

Name: Martin Cunningham on Apr 27, 2011Graduating Year.: 1993Comments: I am saddened by the poor state of our once storied sports program at UCLA. The latest in a long line of blunders is the movement of the students section from the sideline to behind the basket. The claim that the students wanted this is asinine. It is a clear revenue grab. Student athletics should be there for the students. Stuffing them behind the basket, behind two rows of boosters does nothing to enhance the student experience at the games. It simply shows that they don't really matter in the long run. All college sports are about anymore is the revenue they generate. Education and student experience are a distant second.Flag

Please restor the students to the north courtside seats where they belonged then, and now.Flag

Name: Richard Lopez on Apr 27, 2011Graduating Year.: 2003Comments: Some of my best memories at UCLA were sitting in the student section, COURTSIDE with my friends. Sometimes we even camped out overnight, to get those tickets. Is there a reason for students to camp outside for tickets now? Forcing students into a corner at the end of the basketball court is NOT the same. This move has diminished the excitement behind the new Pauley. I can summarize my feelings on this in one word: BETRAYAL.Flag

Name: Alan Dela Cruz on Apr 27, 2011Graduating Year.: 2008Comments: The students shouldn't be anywhere else, but the sidelines. These are the best seats, not only as students, but as die-hard fans who are trying to contribute to the school and the team. The people that camp out every night to get student section seats are the school's are the people who take the most pride in going to UCLA. They love this school and they drag their friends along in hopes that they can share the same passion. These are future alumni, Bruins until they die, and wish to contribute in the future. Make lifelong fans now and let the students keep the best seats in the house.Flag

Name: Tai Wang on Apr 27, 2011Graduating Year.: 1975Comments: Our BB program is declining, our attendance is declining, we had a hard time recruit kids who won't come to an empty house. We need the students, because they are simply more reliable than the alumni like myself. When you are getting old, you hate to sit in the traffics. That's life. You don't need to give 2000 student section on the sideline, I think 500 or even 300 would be a good number. But student section on the sideline will help our games, our recruiting efforts, and our future.Flag

Name: Kevin Straw on Apr 27, 2011Graduating Year.: 1999Comments: The students should be on the sidelines as intended. This redistricting is an unnecessary embarassement. If the students are not returned to the sidelines I will not purchase any more tickets to UCLA Mens Basketball games. Furthermore, I can't believe that John Wooden or even Ben howland would endorse this proposed revised seating plan. There are other ways to raise money without offending the students and alumni. You still have time to change this poor decision before it is too late.Flag

UCLA needs to keep with the other programs in the nation such as DUKE and UNC that have loud fan basis. Putting the Student section at just one end will not enhance this advantage. Lets bring UCLA back to the top with the help of our Students..... I know you will do the right thing.Flag

As an alum, watching games in the stands and on tv, I believe the students along the sideline seats, cheering, standing, yelling, getting upclose and into the game, are key to a great college basketball atmosphere!Flag
