Name: Mark Humphrey on Apr 28, 2011Graduating Year.: 2007Comments: The student section is one of the best things about Pauley Pavilion. To move it from its traditional spot would damage the spirit of the building and risk turning it into yet another lifeless sports arena. Don't do this.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Apr 28, 2011Graduating Year.: 2008Comments: I want Pauley Pavillion to truly be the home court of the Bruins. To do so, the students must be an integral part of Pauley. I believe that can only be done when the students are close to the court and can influence the game at all points, not just during one half.Flag

Name: Andrew David Tassinari on Apr 28, 2011Graduating Year.: 2013Comments: I am one of the basketball managers and I believe the students have a huge impact on the game. Since I am around the players I can tell when they are pumped and when the crowd helps them. To the players it is a really big deal to have a big loud crowd. And students provide that big loud crowd. If other people sit in the sideline seats, have the time they will not show up and they will not cheer as well as students. Lastly, John Wooden would never stand for this. His motto has always been to do the right thing and he would never approve of students being moved to a worse section so more money can be made. We owe our entire basketball program to him and he also has been one of the best teachers on how to be a human being. I feel like we should follow his lessons.Flag

Name: Pete Carmichael on Apr 28, 2011Graduating Year.: 1998Comments: We need the den in the most prominent spot in Pauley for thier benefit and the benefit of the school. This is a long term decision to help build momentum for the program and will likely result in more indirect revenue to the program than that generated by the lost per seat revenue.Flag

Name: Douglas C. Johnson on Apr 28, 2011Graduating Year.: 2004Comments: There is so much that's wrong with sports in the modern era, including the NCAA. Technocrats, unions, attorneys, and media have all taken something away from athletic competition and supporting fans. The Pauley Pavilion student seating issue is emblematic of all these problems: Insular and self-serious technocrats making poorly informed decisions that negatively effect athletic competition and the student experience. This should be a no-brainer. UCLA has a chance to do right by its students and student athletes. Move the student seating to the lower-level along the court.Flag
