Continuing housing development is taking place in the towns and villages north of Inverness and traffic congestion at the Kessock Bridge is at significant levels, with long queues forming during the rush hour. Peter Peacock MSP, Rhoda Grant MSP and David Stewart MSP are now calling on the Scottish Government to take action to address the problem.

5 years ago Comments: The hold ups at the roundabout to the south of the Kessock Bridge became a real and long term problem once the exit to Stadium Road was opened, and has worsended ever since. As the main A9 trunk roadcrosses this junction, through traffic is held up with all the local traffic that needs to change direction at the roundabout. The lie of the land would make this ideal for an A9 flyover of the roundabout. If funding is not available for a long term development, a cheaper less permenent stop gap should be erected as a matter of urgency. Failing this, the roundabout should have traffic light controls to adjust time intervals to correlate with traffic flows at different parts of the day.
