14 Matt ObertProvidence, RIStraight-ticket voting is unfair. It's time for Rhode Island to join the 34 other states that have abolished the practice.

25 Eric SiegelProvidenceState Co-Chair, Green Party of Rhode Island Straight ticket voting is an outdated legacy of the 19th century, a remnant of the political machines that were established to limit the paticipation of American voters. It's long past time we got rid of it.
26 Rachel MillerProvidenceIt's time.

28 Jean Ann GulianoEast GreenwichI agree. It makes it too easy to ignore the individual qualities of candidates. Voters need to educate themselves as to their vote. Not just vote, blindly.

45 Bruce RiderNorth ProvidenceEliminate straight ticket voting. It makes it to easy to vote without understanding the issues or the candidate's position. It is the lazy person way to vote.
46 Liberty GoodwinProvidenceWe need not only individual voting for each candidate, but also instant runoff voting - allowing voters to pick their first, second and third choices. Elimination allows the selection of a candidate actually favored by more than half the electorate. People can vote their true inclinations rather than worrying about who can win, and the "Nader effect".
