Name: Eric Siegel on Jan 29, 2008City/Town: ProvidenceComments: State Co-Chair, Green Party of Rhode Island Straight ticket voting is an outdated legacy of the 19th century, a remnant of the political machines that were established to limit the paticipation of American voters. It's long past time we got rid of it.Flag

Name: Liberty Goodwin on Jan 31, 2008City/Town: ProvidenceComments: We need not only individual voting for each candidate, but also instant runoff voting - allowing voters to pick their first, second and third choices. Elimination allows the selection of a candidate actually favored by more than half the electorate. People can vote their true inclinations rather than worrying about who can win, and the "Nader effect".Flag
