Linda Howdle | It's awful what this is doing to young girls and women. Don't we have enough to deal with in our lives without trying to conform to an unrealistic 'ideal' set by the media? Eating disorders are rife and on the rise as it is, without young people (including young men) thinking that they have to be a certain way to be beautiful.
| 56 | Claire Saunders | It is important to all girls and women exposed to images in the media show a positive image of body image.
no other industry in the country would be permitted to activly incourage its workers to be unhealthy, so why is this one? |

Kirsty-Ann | i h8 it its not womenly, this is so important and its ruining teenagers lives they are being pressured to look like a size zero its terrible!
Anita Hassall | I hate seeing my friends look at themselves and hate what they see because they believe that unless they are skinny they are not beautiful. I want to see a ban.
Charlotte Ginn | I'm not really sure why such fashion shows such as London still use size zero models because most people are disgusted by the extreme skinny image, for the majority it isn't relevant and surely a real image would be kinder on the eye as well as the models.

Ann Passmore | I am naturally a size 8 and continually strive to put on some weight. I think it is incredulous that the people involved in fashion can seriously justify any encouragement of young girls to be so slim!

Rabiya Khan | I feel women should be free from the pressure of fashion, TV and other daily pressures.Feel happy with yourself. Happiness comes from within and not from your outer beauty.
Cat Smith | When I hear statistics like only 3% of women are happy with their bodies I know that there needs to be action!

Anonymous | I been struggling through eating disorder for numerous of years and I'm only about 7 1/2 stone and I never got above that weight. I only eat one or two meals a day and at times I do feel ill. When I see Fashion shows on the news or media it does give out the wrong image to people. Few years back I was about 5 stone and I came extremely ill. I think the fashion world need to change the way things are.

Lara | I totally agree. It is sick that the media and fashion industries portray such unrealistic and unhealthy images. Today the average runway model is 5'9 and weighs in at about 100 pounds with a bmi of 15. A bmi of 15 is classified as emaciated, a few levels below anorexic which is 17.2. This image of sickness that society is portraying is KILLING young girls! It is impossible for a human being to weigh such a low weight naturally. These women are starving themselves, purging, taking laxatives, killing themselves essentially. It is so sad. The world needs to accept and celebrate REAL beauty. We shouldn't have to hurt ourselves like this in order to feel beautiful and like we are worth something in society. It's sick. I want these anorexic models OFF THE RUNWAY! And I want society to embrace real beauty and teach young girls to love themselves for who they are as people and not by the number on the scale or by what size of jeans they wear. I am a 17 year old girl and I have struggled with both anorexia and bulimia for over 4 years now. It is my dying wish that this society change.

Jennifer McGlone | The industry needs to stop promoting unrealistic body sizes, it not only harms people who are influenced by these models but also harms the models health.

Anonymous | Ban Size Zero Models!!!!!

Shannon C | Size zero models are disgusting, unhealthy, and make eating disorders more and more common. Nobody who is over 5'9" is "naturally" that thin. Simply put: it needs to stop.
emily weibel | Because of YOU i am suffering from an Eating Disorder! There are 5 million girls out there like me too! All because the media told me i'm not beautiful. How can you think that you have to be size 0 to be beautiful. Your models are an inspiration for death. 1 out of 5 people with eating disorders die. You are pretty much telling girls to loose weight. And while you are sending that message girls are starving themselves or purging up their meals, harming themselves. All of these girls and me have been told to commit a slow and painful suicide. I am fully for this petition. These people who are signing this speak the truth. You are killing people.
