Name: Jenielle Bailey on Feb 15, 2011Comments: As a woman who has several friends and family members that have lived and died serving their country I feel with alll of my heart that this unofficial policy towards women tarnishes the good reputation of all who serve honorably. I expect a better system in place for handling these cases, one which protects the victims and helps change the culture permanently.Flag

Name: Julie Linder on Feb 15, 2011Comments: I am a military sexual trauma survivor. I was raped and assaulted by my NCOIC (non-commissioned officer in charge) while I was deployed to the AOR. When I tried to report the incident my chain of command had gotten wind of it and sat me down with my immediate supervisor and told me to "sit down shut up and be pretty". That was the turning point in my military career. If that had been handled properly I would still be proudly serving in the Air Force. Today I have a rating of 40% for PTSD and I struggle with daily living.Flag

You owe it to every woman who's served and everyone who's been harassed and assaulted while serving to take this crisis seriously, to end MST and help all who are serving now and who have served.Flag

Name: Sherry Kinsey-Wasson on Feb 15, 2011Comments: Thank you all so much for what you have done and what you are doing. It is attrocious to me to think that a fellow officer could do such a thing to another; and then for you all to get literally "raped" again by the system that is supposed to support you. The people who did and/or are doing this to our service women and men are not brave, they have no honor, and they have no business being in positions of authority in our armed forces. I applaud your courage and your character. It takes enormous strength just to survive such a thing. Let alone be brave enough to take on the people who or enabling it to continue. God bless each of you & God speed you in accomplishing your goals to right these wrongs. Because when these people do this and when they are allowed to get away with it, it puts a stain on all of us who are Americans. We must not let this continue for the good of all Americans in service and not.Flag

Nothing I guess. But they put me out of the Marine saying I had a personality disorder. They hid my records for 11yrs. I still live with the shame and pain of a tarnished record and a shortened career. And the pain that I will have PSTD for the rest of my life. End the cycle of pain. God Speed.Flag

Name: Thomas Odom on Feb 15, 2011Comments: As a former member of the USAF, serving during Desert Storm, I saw firsthand a mentaility of my male airmen that varied from misogynistic to outline violent towards women airmen. One of the reasons I left the Air Force was that the ideal that all are created equal and all should be treated with respect regardless of race, gender, or religion was mere lipservice. It's time for the military to be the ideal, not preach the ideal.Flag

Name: Renee Flanders (Doucette) on Feb 15, 2011Comments: I had a similar situation while stationed Ft. Bragg. I believe I was drugged, and then raped (there was 2 rolls of film to prove it) however I dropped the charges after 6 months because I was so humiliated, I just wanted it to be over. THey tuned the accused into the victims, as they were part of the infamous 82nd Infantry...and I was not. They told me I was trying to ruin their careers.... no one seemed to be worried about mine or my well being. I hope this goes through and it can prevent this from happening to anymore service members. It's obviously out of control.Flag

I have been trying for years for the military to give me service connected rating on my disability and thay keep deniying me because I had a bad home life and the malitary had nothing to do with it. So I support you ladies to the enth degree.Flag
