We the students of Airport High School feel that the Intervention block on Wednesdays is redundant in the fact that in a regular school week we are already in class longer than we have been in the past. Adding an additional forty-five minutes once a week is not beneficial in that most students do not need the extra class time and we do not have adequate time to eat lunch. Many students during Intervention time either have early release or classes at Midlands Tech and making those students stay in the auditorium is not
We the students of Airport High School believe that the Intervention block that was added this school year is not needed. Most students do not need to have an intervention when it comes to grades and the few classes it benefits (science & math) are just a few. Our class times are longer than they have ever been at this school. Right now we are in 1st & 4th blocks almost 8 hours and 3rd & 4th blocks 7 1/2 hours a week and our lunch time is shorter with only 25 minutes on Wednesdays. Adding an additional 45 minute block and taking time away from lunch is not beneficial. We propose that the Intervention block be eliminated and at least 5 minutes be taken from 1st & 4th blocks and making lunch 10 minutes longer.
