I also know people killed by police "trying to escape" and believe that if you are truly innocent until proven guilty the police should use tranquilizers afterall they do for the wild animals here in California or else animal rights activits (correctly) complain!!Flag

The politicians turn a blind eye to its entry but want to punish its citizens for its use and sale of the drugs. We all know that the politicians are lining their pockets with drug cash.Flag

If you add in the price of housing these "criminals" then how much is this costing us enough to get a decent health care system in this countryFlag

Name: Gail Amalfitano on Sep 1, 2002State: FLCountry: USComments: The war on drugs is a lie, police arrest users, while letting the dealers deal so they may find more users to arrest...to make a lot of arrests so statistics look as if they are doing something. I see first hand cops allowing dealers to continue to sell drugs while they set up the users since that way they can make a larger number to show in reports, the after they arrest these sick addicts in need of help and medical attention, they sit in a jail cell with no treatment ,counceling,or even references for when they are released to get help,as they sit in a cell all day to do nothing but talk about using again when they get out due to the fact that there are no resources inside these jails to show these beaten down, depressed, lost so far in the addiction, they believe there is no other way for them, we pay for cubans to stay in hotels in Florida, have meals brought to them 2x a day, ship to another state..pay for training and housing while in school, untill they have a job( i seen this first hand) all that money spent on americans in bad need of a new way of life would get about 70% of petty crimes off the streets and have more people back in the work force, but i guess we are just not important and also what about jobs at the jails we could lose that either right so DO NOT HELP those who keep us in jobs, not all America is BLIND.Flag
