| 611 | Anonymous | I have witnessed first hand the physical and emotinal abuse that treatment centers like this for youth believe is therapeutic. I was a nanny for 4 adopted children who were placed in these facilities. There was nothing wrong with these children and they never should have went their. They were coerced and manipulated into making up horrific stories just to survive the therapy. Their family was torn apart over it and lost all their money. Two of the children were sadly readopted out to some of the therapist and probably for money purposes I would assume. I would like to join in helping pass laws against this type of treatment. I am in contact with one of those children now who is 20 years old and he wants to file a malpractice suit against them for what they put him through. Please let me know how I can help.

We are having a demonstration in downtown Nashville today at the state Legislative Plaza, to send a message to the governor that the rape and murder of children in state facilities are crimes against the people. We demand that the youth facility outside Nashville that two youth died in in 2005 and 2007 be shut down immediately. |

Often that decision is to either send our child off to a residential facility where we are no longer in control or deal with the situation ourselves at home and hope for the best. For those of us who have had to make that decision it is by far the most difficult one. A parent's sanity is only held together through confidence and trust that our child/ren or being treated humanely. I believe that our government is responsible for the well-being of these children through regulation of such organizations. If these residential facilities just "happen to be" located outside of U.S. jursidication then any company or oranization selling their services to American families should have the same accountability as those companies located within the U.S. It seems quite obvious that a company which is physically located within the jurisdication of the U.S. should be held accountable for any services offered to minor children regardless of the location where services are rendered. |
