Name: Ben on Nov 13, 2012Comments: As a test, I found that I was easily able to circumvent the new "security" measures by simply waiting by a side door for someone to let me in, bypassing the finger scanning altogether. I feel that it is merely an inconvenience to students that actually belong in the dorm.Flag

Name: Emma Altmeyer on Nov 13, 2012Comments: This is actually ridiculous. Two staircases in my building have been cut off. I feel less safe now, actually. One of the staircases is close to Figueroa, the street I have to pass to get to my dorm. I have occasionally been called to by strangers on the road and even approached by a homeless man off Figueroa street. Having that door so close allows me to run inside the building if I feel unsafe, which I have, especially when approached by a stranger. Now, I have to walk all the way around the building if I am approached in order to be inside and safe again. It's also a major inconvenience to all of my classes, particularly when I need quick access between classes to things in my dorm. I cannot get in the door closest to my room, instead forced to walk all the way around, which will most likely make me late in the future. I doubt my professors will accept USC security inconveniencing me by making me wait in ridiculous finger scanning lines as a valid excuse. I have had to wait over five minutes per person in line before, since many of the scanners are actually quite incompetent with the equipment. Not the mention, the scanners rarely recognize my prints. Safety is important, but this is ridiculous.Flag

Name: Parker Saussy on Nov 13, 2012Comments: This is a huge pain. What's even more annoying is that it's the same guy in the lobby every time who's seen me come in, so he obviously recognizes me, and yet he STILL insists on fingerprinting me every time. My fingerprints aren't gonna change in the 2 hour span between me leaving and coming back here, dumbass.Flag
