I would like to propose an idea that I think will have a significant impact on eliminating the corruption and fraud in our government, please judge these ideas based on their merit and please leave any political rhetoric out of the conversation. I propose that we eliminate the offices of the United States Congress and Senate therein, and trash the old, tired, corrupt two party system that is halting all progress in this country. Governors elected by the citizenry in their state would be representing their states political policies, views, and values of the state that elected them to the Federal Government. Also, under this model if the President wanted to propose a bill to the American people, it is the American people who will have the right to exercise Veto Power over its passage not the Congress. Instead of senate judiciary committees and private closed door meetings, representatives would be picked like members of a jury giving US a say in who they are and assuring that our positions will be represented. Instead of the tired old divisive two party system we would no longer recognize candidates political party affiliations and instead  judge them by the merit of their ideas and by the quality of their character and deeds; instead of preserving the status quo. In place of the old system I propose is a simple system of secure online voting that will completely eliminate all back door deals by corrupt officials and the need for the unlimited campaign contributions by companies that are legally allowed to make to the politicians that are suppose to represent the people. In the system I envision that a National Voting Website be created in which any person with a computer or smart phone could access. They can log in with their social and vote issues up or down they deem important or even propose an idea to potentially become a bill. This would completely eliminate the need to travel to polling sites on hot summer or cold winter days, as well as giving access to voters without means of transportation and greatly benefiting the elderly or sick. Instead of having polling booths, we would have places where people of limited means and no online access could go log in free of charge on a publicly provided computer to access the site, eliminating archaic, fraudulent ballot punching and the controversial voting machines all together. This program would have total public oversight and be completely transparent unlike our current model. We have the technology at our disposal now, as long as we assure it's proper application we can completely eliminate the corruption plaguing our current system and stop it from halting progress at every turn. We would be moving the Three Thousand year old idea of Democracy  into the Twenty First Century with US, where it belongs. Our current system creates and encourages the exploitation of the people to campaign rhetoric, special interests and large corporations that control and manipulate the election process. By eliminating the congressional branch of government and putting the power back in the hands of the people we could eliminate this corruption seemingly overnight. Special interest cannot bribe and bribe and buy all of us, it is simply impossible and and impractical.
