I object to the City of Vancouver allowing encroachment on sidewalks and bike lanes, by both private construction companies such as Onni Properties and public works such as the waterworks development at David Lam Park. Such encroachment destroys our freedom to use public sidewalks. It also presents a very dangerous situation in the case of bikers--they are suddenly forced to turn onto a car lane. I'm very afraid that there will be a terrible accident at David Lam Park. I can see from my window that the space used by the heavy machinery at the park is not utlilized efficiently; if they parked closer together, they would not need our precious sidewalks and bike lanes.
