2013 was a hard year for Emmett Little League. Whether you were a parent, coach, or volunteer, you probably had a very difficult time getting your issues addressed. While we all know that human beings make mistakes, we at least deserve a timely response to any problems that we see going on. That did not happen. The 2013 Board President, Denise Sorenson, would hand the problem off to another board member, would bring members of the district presidency into our local disputes, or would brush the whole thing under the rug, hoping that you would just go away.

To make matters worse, this year the board decided to compile evidence against several of its volunteers, for the sole purpose of banning them from participation in the 2014 season. Instead of doing the right thing, addressing problems that arose in such a way that would benefit players, coaches, and parents, as well as laying foundations of trust for the future, this board chose to operate in secretive fashions, and pitted volunteers against each other by denying that problems existed.

By signing this petition, you are acknowledging that the 2013 Emmett Little League Board, and all of its members, are AT LEAST as responsible, if not more so, than the individuals that they chose to ban from the 2014 season. You will also be asking that those previous board members either STEP DOWN from the current 2014 Emmett Little League Board, OR rescind the disciplinary actions that were taken against the 2013 volunteers without warning or attempts to allow them to correct the supposed wrong-doings. Once the petition is submitted to the board, if our request is not met, then the signers will silently protest the 2014 season by NOT VOLUNTEERING in anyway. We would never advocate removing the children from the program because that would only harm them. Instead, we would simply not assist with fundraising, concessions, field work, etc. These are all things that the BOARD needs from us, the parents. Please use the "Comments" section of the petition to state whether you wish the whole 2013 Board step down, or just the President. Thank you for your support.
