I have members in my family that have suffered with mental health issues and I also have struggled with moods, feeling low and really down. When I went to the doctor he wasn't very sympathetic and made me feel like I was making a big deal out of nothing, even though my dad is bipolar and that can be hereditary. When my mum came along to the doctors with me, we really had to push for a referral, I had one appointment with a physiatrists and they told me they would be in touch, that was over a year ago and I have still heard nothing back.

I would like to see a help centre opened up over Britain or at least Scotland. Sadly, some people with mental health issues don't seek help as they feel the doctors aren't very sympathetic and it can take a while for a referral and doctors aren't physiatrists, that's not there job. So why is there no walk in centres for just mental health?
I think a lot of people would benefit from this as they would feel they're more understood as physiatrists are trained for just that, mental help issues. I understand it would cost the government more money but I really feel this would help a lot of people not feel so wary as  most people don't really want to go there family GP and admit they're struggling. It would be a walk in centre where there would be counsellors on hand and physiatrists that would be able to make the correct diagnosis then and there and also write prescriptions. At the end of the day, there's doctors surgery's, sexual health clinics, so why not a mental health walk in centre?
