TARGET: Embry-Riddle SGA CALL TO ACTION: Petition to add more speed limit and "Yield to Pedestrians" signs campus-wide. BACKGROUND: Our campus streets and parking lots are not safe. Countless of students have to avoid getting hit by a car on a daily basis. While there have been few minor collisions to date, we can make the choice of being a proactive school that identifies and solves a potential problem before it becomes something serious. SUPPORT: If drivers are made more aware that they are speeding in our parking lots and endangering the lives of their classmates, the number of speeding cars will decrease. Ten "yield" signs and ten speed limit signs, plus the cost of hardware and labor, will total about $1,000. This is a fair cost for the well-being of our student body.
