PLEASE REGISTER at www.ElPasoDogParks.com to learn about our progress!! ----- The El Paso, Texas, Parks Superintendent, Sam Calhoun, needs to hear from the numbers of dog owners who are calling for a dog park in the area. The current dog park at Album Park, is not an optimal dog park that provides canines of all breeds to have their daily exercise and provide them with proper socializing. Please sign the petition provided on the site to help move the Council members of El Paso Recreation and Park Department and other interested City Officials to generate a suitable and size able dog park for all of El Paso. This petition, is directed to El Paso, TX, Parks Superintendent, Sam Calhoun, and other interested City Officials. It's goal is to support the designation and construction of an enclosed dog park and improvement of the existing dog park at Eastwood Park. We, the undersigned constituents of the city of El Paso, respectfully urge you to authorize the funding required to establish an "off-leash" dog park to be created at the location described above. In creating a dog park, we hope to accomplish multiple goals: 1. To establish a fenced in, off-leash dog park where well-behaved dogs can exercise in a clean, safe environment. 2. To develop a beautiful, large, well-maintained space, open to all dog lovers and friends who are willing to uphold the park's rules and restrictions. 3. To view this park as a community project, in partnership with the City of El Paso, designed to satisfy the needs of dog-owners and non-dog owners alike. We request the City of El Paso to authorize adequate funding to provide appropriate fencing, including a double gated entry to prevent dogs from bolting, emergency & maintenance entry, electricity outlets, lighting, concrete, water availability, garbage cans, bag stations, benches, human & dog water fountain(s), and signage so that this park can be constructed as quickly as possible. The park must comply with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA). The design of the park will house two separate fenced in sections. One to be utilized for large/medium dogs and the other for small and shy dogs. The Petition to El Paso, Texas, Parks Superintendent, Sam Calhoun, and City Officials was created by and written by Lori Lane and Charlie Moreno. Sincerely, The Undersigned
