Name: Allison Coomey on Mar 20, 2012Comments: It is devastating for all of those involved. Current players and coaches as well as former players and coaches. As a current Division I coach myself and a former coach and player at Niagara University I am discouraged with the decisions that have taken away the opportunity for a female hockey player to wear the Purple Eagle uniform. My heart goes out to everyone who has ever been a part of the program.Flag

Name: Sam Sasser on Mar 20, 2012Comments: pulling this program is wrong on so many levels. Does the school lack enough foresight to plan for this type of event? Did anyone in the decision making process ever take a statistics class? You can make the results support whatever outcome you desire and that is what consultants specialize in. It appears this decision was based on these consultants who are clearly out of touch with reality. Setting an example for these hardworking girls that commitments can be canceled on the whim of an athletic director who never fully bought into the program in the first place is just plain wrong. I raised my daughter to honor her commitments, no matter what. Please reconsider your decision and teach the lesson that mistakes can be made and when they are recognized, they can be corrected.Flag
