The federal income tax is illegal according to Article 1 section 9 of the Constitution which states: "no capitulation, or other direct, tax shall be laid, unless in proportion to the census or enumeration herein before directed to be taken." The Constitution was established to ensure equal treatment of all men, not to stifle the pursuit of happiness by targeting individuals based on circumstance. Furthermore, the IRS violates Amendment 4 of the Constitution which protects the privacy of personal affairs; namely, by prying into the private business affairs of the citizenry. In signing, I hereby petition the elimination of the federal income tax.
