We, the undersigned, recognize that there are less than 35,000 Asian elephants left in the world. Human-elephant conflict, poaching, and disappearing habitat combined with lack of conservation efforts in their rangeland countries make the preservation of this endangered species rest on elephants in human care and their caretakers. To this end, we oppose any efforts to ban or limit elephant exhibition in the city of Los Angeles as well as any bans or limitations on the tools used to humanely care for said elephants.
